Rain And Wind

It was late into the night,

Not a soul was in sight,

She sat wondering for who should she dance and sing,

Cause' Mother Nature had asked them to do their thing,

Had they got their instructions right?

As hello!! It was the middle of the night!!

"Rain?! When are you planning to start?", howled her friend wind,

"Alright, alright", thundered rain, "No need to make such a din"

Together they blew and poured on Earth,

For breeze and water there was no dearth,

Just at day break,

They decided it was enough and went to visit Mother Nature in her hut by the back-of-the-beyond lake,

Tired little rain asked Mother Nature, "Mother, Why did you ask us to do this in the night?"

"Yeah", chipped in wind, "There was not an eye to appreciate the awesome sight."

Mother Nature smiled and said, "Good work should always be done without much ado."

Puzzled though, with her reply, they thanked her and left,

And only on their way back did the meaning of her words come to them,

When they saw people delighted with their night's work,

And heard them say "Bless the rain and wind!"

"Right you are! They did it without making a din."

Rain and wind smiled and vowed that in future,

They'll never doubt the instructions of wise old Mother Nature.
