Dream

Sleep darling sleep,

Sleep a peaceful sleep,

Dream of the lake and valley,

The place of your childhood,

The place where you ran around with bare feet,

Sleep darling sleep,

Sleep a peaceful sleep,

Dream of you grandmother's hut,

Surrounded by fruit laden trees,

The trees which you climbed to pluck fruit from,

Sleep darling sleep,

Sleep a peaceful sleep,

Dream of the chirping sounds of the birds,

The birds whose nests you protected out of your innocence from cats,

The birds which you fed from your own hands,

Sleep darling sleep,

Sleep a peaceful sleep,

This cruel world has destroyed what you dream,

There is no hut now nor is there a lake,

The cruel world has destroyed all that you saw,

So sleep darling sleep,

Sleep and dream!
